Meet at the Bureau des Guides de la Vallée des Belleville for glacier hikes, in the Vanoise Park !
The glacier hike is accessible to people who want to learn about the high mountains, including children, from the age of 6, for a discovery of glacier walking and an introduction to basic mountaineering exercises.
The guides propose a simple circuit, with little difference in altitude and gentle slopes, for a perfect adaptation to the expectations of beginners.
The objective of the outing is to reach the Chavière glacier. You will admire the small glacial lake and the breathtaking landscape.
To do this hike, you will have to leave early, between 6.00 and 6.30 am, when the snow is still hard. Your return to Val Thorens will be in the early afternoon.
Tips and advice will be given to you for a safe practice of the activity: you will learn how to use an ice axe, crampons, but also the safety rules to respect in the mountains such as walking with ropes…
Easy to access, you can test your crampons on the Glacier de Chavière and the Col de Gébroulaz
For the more experienced, other hikes await you at an altitude of 3100 m, with the ascent of the points of Reynod or Thorens.
Discover also the “Trois Cols” itinerary with its magnificent viewpoints:
